A Letter From The Ride Founders
June 30th, 2020 | The Ride
Greetings from The Ride!
We are so very appreciative to all participants, volunteers and sponsors that have made The Ride a shining light in advancing cancer research at the University of Wisconsin. Together we have raised over $1.2M in which 100% has gone towards the most promising research, treatment and technologies at our cancer center.
It goes without saying that 2020 has been a unique year. However, it is our pleasure to share the the mission to conquer cancer continues. The Ride has made modifications for this year’s event amidst our ongoing global pandemic to provide an individualized experience to our participants. Although we will not be holding our traditional in-person celebration, we are pleased to share our on-course safety measures below which will place rider health as a priority while allowing participants the ability to honor loved ones as we ride for a cure in 2020. We look forward to seeing you on the course in 2020 and in-person in 2021!
Safety Guidelines for On-Course Individualized Experience
- There will be no centralized gathering location(s) in 2020
- Riders will customize their experience by starting anywhere along the bike routes. The Ride will also provide easily accessible starting points across the 100+ course miles.
- Participants will commence their ride at any time between 8am-4pm on Sunday, September 27
- Participants will receive comprehensive communication of necessary safety precautions, including distancing from other riders along the course
- Rest and aid stations will be provided with individually packaged food and beverage options for quick, non-contact support
- Aid station restrooms will be provided with ample sanitation elements accompanied by safety protocol directives

As always, we wish to say thank you to all our stakeholders who have made The Ride a special and significant event in delivering hope and optimism in cancer research and treatment!
