The ultimate mission of the Badger Challenge is to increase cancer cure rates through cutting edge cancer research and clinical trials. Since the event started in 2016, Badger Challenge and its participants have raised over $2.6 million funding the brightest minds at the University of Wisconsin and UW Carbone Cancer Center.

However, there is so much more we can do. This requires tremendous passion and commitment from us and from you which is why we highly encourage every participant 18 and older to join the $1K Challenge. Registrations fees are in place to cover the cost of the event, so participation in the event itself does not impact our mission to fund more cancer research, therefore we are asking you to strive to raise $1000 or more. Every single dollar participants raise rapidly goes to cancer research and patient treatment initiatives right here in our community. Can you inspire family, friends and colleagues to help you raise $1000 for cancer patients? This may require 10 people giving $100 or 20 people giving $50. Everyone is impacted by cancer in some way. Perhaps not personally, but they know someone who has been impacted. Ask for their support in your fundraising efforts to help turn even more patients into survivors.

For participants who meet or exceed this challenge, they will be eligible to receive a fundraising incentive. Whether you are a 5K walker or 100 mile rider, we challenge you to make your mark in the fight against cancer. Please join us for the $1K Challenge*.
